Solemn Profession Mass, Carmel Monastery

We were approached by the Carmel Monastery to see if we could help them with a special induction mass they were holding. The chapel was very small and it was not going to be possible for all the relatives and friends of Sister Mary to witness the event.

Carmel Monastery had arranged for a large marquee to be erected in the grounds to accommodate their guests but they needed the event to be relayed 150 metres from the chapel to the Marquee with sound and pictures and displayed on plasma screens in the Marquee.

Due to the unique nature of the event we could not attend any rehearsals and had only a limited brief on what would happen. We were unable to move the cameras during the service and therefore covered the event with three cameras that were mixed live and fed to the marquee and subsequently recorded to produce a lasting memory of the event.

The people who viewed the event in the marquee including notable priests who had witnessed other induction Masses, commented on our discrete approach and how it was just like being in the chapel.

Their filming was unobtrusive and sensitive, and they managed to capture the unique and prayerful atmosphere of the ceremony so that all could participate fully.
